Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Janis Piternieks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Gullberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gullberg's choice of entrance music: Renan Barao-Rao-Rao. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Alex Gullberg enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Gullberg!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piternieks feints and then cracks Gullberg's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gullberg down.
Piternieks misses with the body kick
and Gullberg counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Piternieks lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Gullberg chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Piternieks can pounce on him.
Piternieks misses with a low kick.
Piternieks looks to land a body kick but Gullberg moved away.
Piternieks scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Piternieks wants to land a leg kick but Gullberg is out of range.
Piternieks looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gullberg tries to buck Piternieks off but Piternieks is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Piternieks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gullberg has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Piternieks has managed to get both his arms back between Gullberg's legs - danger averted.
