Murray comes into the arena with Cast - Sandstorm blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Murray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Kendricks!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kendricks shoots and misses

and Murray counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Murray stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kendricks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kendricks wants to sweep here but Murray controlling him for the moment.

Murray wants to control from the top but Kendricks keeps moving.
Kendricks should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kendricks is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Murray got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kendricks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Murray has managed to get both his arms back between Kendricks's legs - danger averted.
Murray won't allow Kendricks to sweep him here.
Murray tries to free his leg and advance position but Kendricks is retaining full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Murray wants to control from the top but Kendricks keeps moving.
Kendricks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Murray is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We're going to have a standup here because Rob Murray wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Murray wants to control from the top but Kendricks keeps moving.
Murray is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kendricks is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rob Murray.

Murray closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Murray uses his free foot to push down on Kendricks's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kendricks.
Kendricks manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Murray wants to pass to mount but Kendricks is defending the position.

Kendricks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Murray.
Kendricks wants to improve his position but Murray is controlling well.
Murray trying to mount his opponent but Kendricks defends it.

Murray prevents Kendricks from improving his position.
Murray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kendricks keeps working.
Kendricks gets back to full guard.

Kendricks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Murray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kendricks is tightening it up a little... Murray has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Murray reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Murray taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kendricks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jackson Kendricks!
