Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Praying Mantis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gael Monfils (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monfils dodges the punch combination from Mantis.
Mantis misses with the combination.
Nice body punch from Mantis.
Monfils rushes Mantis and presses him up against the cage.
Mantis is trying to push Monfils away but Monfils has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Monfils escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Monfils slips a straight right by Mantis.
Mantis misses the shot to the body.
Mantis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mantis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Monfils manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mantis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Monfils stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Monfils shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Monfils was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mantis manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Mantis is trying to control the action in half guard but Monfils is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Monfils is looking for a sweep. Mantis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Monfils can do anything to dispel that myth.
Monfils is staying active underneath Mantis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Monfils is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mantis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Mantis lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Monfils can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Mantis and Monfils drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Mantis.
