Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michel Rodalgo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Voda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodalgo's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ace of Spades - By Motorhead. The crowd seem to be enjoying Voda's choice of entrance music: Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell. Michel Rodalgo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michel Rodalgo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Voda!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voda misses with an uppercut.
Voda fails with a takedown attempt.
Voda has his takedown stuffed

and Rodalgo counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Voda is in trouble now - Rodalgo has advanced to mount!
Rodalgo is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rodalgo avoids the attempt from Voda to control.
Voda is trying desperately to improve position.
Rodalgo scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Voda?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodalgo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Voda looks a forlorn figure.

Rodalgo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rodalgo scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Voda tries to hold on but Rodalgo postures up.
Rodalgo looking to control but Voda is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Rodalgo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Voda tries to lock up and control but Rodalgo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Voda is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rodalgo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Voda is looking to escape.

Rodalgo cracks Voda with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Rodalgo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Voda hang on?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rodalgo wants to take a breather but Voda is having none of it.
Rodalgo tries to pass to full mount but Voda defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michel Rodalgo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rodalgo stuffs the takedown.
Voda looks for a takedown but Rodalgo sprawls well.
Rodalgo thows a body shot but no joy.
Voda thows a left - swing and a miss!
Nice uppercut lands for Rodalgo. That snapped Voda's head back.
Voda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Michel Rodalgo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Voda.
Rodalgo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Voda manages to avoid it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Voda is defended easily by Rodalgo.
Voda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rodalgo tries to avoid it but Voda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rodalgo to the ground. Rodalgo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Rodalgo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rodalgo.

Rodalgo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rodalgo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Voda sprawls well. Voda wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rodalgo gets slowly back to his feet.

Voda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rodalgo but Rodalgo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Voda moves out of range as Rodalgo strikes.
A punch combination from Rodalgo misses.
Voda ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rodalgo lands a really nice looking cross but Voda seems unphased.
Voda thows a body shot but no joy.
Rodalgo throws a big shot that misses.

Rodalgo gets caught flat footed, as Voda shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Rodalgo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Voda is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Rodalgo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Voda throws a big elbow that misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Voda's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Voda slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rodalgo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Voda distracts Rodalgo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Voda trying to control but Rodalgo is working from the bottom.
Voda with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Rodalgo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Voda doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Voda manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Voda sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rodalgo's guard.

Voda is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rodalgo is just riding it out for now. Voda eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rodalgo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Voda fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rodalgo manages to avoid it.
Rodalgo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michel Rodalgo will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Rodalgo here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Voda will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Well Rodalgo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
