Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lance Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and VJ Kiwi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kiwi has chosen Redlight - Get Out My Head as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lance Stevens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, VJ Kiwi! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A cross from Stevens lands. Stevens walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Kiwi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Stevens lands with a good body shot. Kiwi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stevens on his heels. He'll look to pass Stevens's guard now, I'm sure. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kiwi content to stall in guard here. Kiwi wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving. Kiwi passes Stevens's left leg - he's now in half guard. Kiwi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stevens is looking for a sweep. Kiwi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiwi is working for a kimura but Stevens is defending it quite comfortably.
Kiwi wants to pass the guard but Stevens is defending well. Kiwi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stevens is just riding it out for now. Kiwi eventually gives up the hold. Stevens is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stevens is not content to let Kiwi control the position. Kiwi trying to mount his opponent but Stevens defends it. Kiwi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kiwi seems to be working for a kimura but Stevens defends the submission attempt. Kiwi is looking to advance position but Stevens won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevens is trying to stand.
Kiwi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stevens sees it coming and defends easily. Kiwi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stevens is just riding it out for now. Kiwi eventually gives up the hold. Stevens is pressing down on Kiwi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Stevens looking for a sweep. Not yet Stevens, not yet. Stevens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kiwi trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stevens is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stevens keeping moving, preventing Kiwi from controlling successfully. Kiwi is stalling in the full guard. Kiwi prevents Stevens from getting back to his feet. Kiwi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kiwi passes Stevens's left leg - he's now in half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Stevens tries to roll over but Kiwi keeps him under control. Kiwi is keen to just control but Stevens is a slippery customer. Stevens is trying to control but Kiwi manages to pass to mount!
That's five minutes gone in the round. Stevens really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kiwi works his way to his opponent's back.
Kiwi has managed to slip his arm under Stevens's chin. This could be all over... yep, Stevens is tapping out! Submission win for Kiwi.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). VJ Kiwi! After the fight, VJ Kiwi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
