Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Patrick Panter! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Panter looking to score a takedown here. Brown is defending well but Panter drives through and ends up in Brown's guard. Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Panter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Panter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Brown pulls Panter in close to prevent any damage. Panter not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Panter preventing the sweep. Brown has a closed guard, preventing Panter from standing up. Panter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Patrick Panter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Panter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Brown. Patrick Panter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A momentary lapse in concentration from Panter enables Brown to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Panter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Panter is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Panter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Panter keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully. Panter wants to sweep but no luck. Brown drops back looking for a leg! Panter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Panter manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Panter's guard. Brown postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Panter uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Panter tries to clinch and Brown counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Panter's guard now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brown drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brown jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Brown is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Panter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Panter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Panter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Brown manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Panter manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Panter working for a triangle but Brown defends it easily.
Panter looks winded! Panter controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself. Panter keeping full guard, as Brown tries to pass. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Panter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brown content to stall in guard here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Brown dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Panter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brown walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Panter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Panter showed some decent athleticism there. Brown actively working from the bottom here. Brown is trying to control but can't.
Brown keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Panter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brown's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Panter sitting and controlling from the half guard. Brown is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Panter pulls his head out easily. Panter content to control rather than advance. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Patrick Panter. Brown misses with a double jab
and Panter counters with a series of strikes. Brown will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A thudding body kick lands there by Panter!
Brown takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Panter tries to clinch up and Brown counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brown is working for a submission of some sort.
Brown with the ground and pound but Panter uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Panter is looking for a triangle but Brown pushes his legs off easily.
Panter scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Brown throws a right and a left that Panter avoids nicely. Panter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Panter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Brown trying to control from the bottom.
Panter is keen to just control but Brown is a slippery customer. Panter is taking a breather. Brown says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Patrick Panter was stalling too much, according to the referee. Brown swats away the attempt to clinch by Panter. Daniel Brown is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brown shoots in but no luck this time. A momentary lapse in concentration from Brown enables Panter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brown manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Patrick Panter has got the better of the ground game so far. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brown looking to control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Panter drops back looking for a leg! Brown is in trouble here! Patrick Panter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Wow, that was lightning fast! Brown celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
