The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira misses with a hook
and Gonzalez counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Gonzalez landing some decent shots from guard.
Gonzalez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gonzalez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pereira dives on top into guard.
Pereira throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gonzalez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pereira!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gonzalez prevents Pereira from getting the reversal.
Gonzalez is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pereira is surviving well by controlling Gonzalez's body position as best he can.
Gonzalez fails to take his opponent's back.

Gonzalez throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Pereira has his hands clasped together but Gonzalez breaks the hold and Pereira is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Gonzalez!
