Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Pernambucano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Munez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pernambucano's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Samba Rio de Janeiro. The crowd seem to be enjoying Munez's choice of entrance music: Bandoleros. Anderson Pernambucano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Santiago Munez! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Munez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Munez throws a lazy right hand but Pernambucano sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Nice takedown defense from Munez. No joy for Pernambucano on that attempt. Pernambucano shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Munez keeping full guard, as Pernambucano tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Munez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pernambucano is one step ahead there. Munez prevents Pernambucano from improving position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pernambucano tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Pernambucano thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Munez is sneaking out the side here. Anderson Pernambucano is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Munez fails to land with a series of punches.
Pernambucano keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pernambucano shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Munez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pernambucano closes the distance looking to clinch and Munez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Pernambucano forces Munez back against the cage and clinches. Pernambucano prevents Munez from breaking the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Munez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Munez has had enough of the clinch but Pernambucano keeps him there for the moment. Pernambucano lands a takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pernambucano wants to control from the top but Munez keeps moving. Munez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pernambucano is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Munez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pernambucano's back instead.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Munez taking shots to the head. Pernambucano with good strikes from the mount here! Munez is wriggling around trying to escape.

Pernambucano rushes Munez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Munez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pernambucano pulls his leg out and moves away.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pernambucano gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Munez counters with a three punch combo that has Pernambucano backing up. Pernambucano nods at Munez to acknowledge the strikes. That's three minutes gone in the round. Munez with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Munez prevents Pernambucano from getting the reversal. Munez avoids the attempt from Pernambucano to control. Munez working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Pernambucano turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Munez off and cradles Pernambucano's limp body as Munez celebrates with his corner.
