The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tompson darts in trying to clinch

and Daily counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Tompson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Tompson tries to land a knee to the head but Daily blocks with his arms.

Daily escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Daily shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tompson sprawls well. Tompson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Daily gets slowly back to his feet.
Daily shoots for a takedown but Tompson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Daily has Tompson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Daily pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tompson tumbling to the mat - Daily dives into Tompson's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marcus Daily was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Tompson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Daily looks for a takedown but Tompson sprawls well.
Daily closes the distance and clinches up with Tompson, looking for a takedown. Daily pushes Tompson against the cage but Tompson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Daily darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Daily is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fight stays on the outside here - Tompson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daily takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Daily is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Tompson pushes Daily away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Daily gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
