Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Afa Sila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer has chosen pop some tags as his entrance music. Travis Palmer has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Afa Sila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Travis Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Palmer drives through with a takedown into Sila's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Palmer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Palmer wants to control from the top but Sila keeps moving.
Palmer is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Sila looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sila keeping moving, preventing Palmer from controlling successfully.

Sila throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Palmer escapes and throws Sila's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Palmer remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sila tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Palmer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Sila wants to control but Palmer postures up.

Palmer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sila, who protects the arm well.

Sila is not content to let Palmer control the position.
Sila tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Palmer tries to stand but Sila is controlling his head.
Palmer tries to move into full mount but can't pass Sila's legs.
Palmer creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sila sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Sila wants to control but Palmer postures up.
Sila manages to get back to half guard.
Sila is looking to improve his position.
Sila is working hard here to advance position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Palmer thows a huge punch but Sila dodges it nicely.
Sila trying to hold on to Palmer's head to control him but Palmer postures up.
Sila is staying active underneath Palmer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Palmer is just content to waste time from the top position. Sila takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Sila working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Palmer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Palmer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Palmer wants to stand but Sila has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The fighters are battling for position here. Sila manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Palmer trying to control but Sila is working from the bottom.

Palmer wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Sila's closed guard. He's half up but Sila has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Sila pivots and extends the arm, Palmer falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Sila! Well done that man!
