The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beast tries to clinch but Pearson moves out of range. Beast scores with a jab to the head.
Beast shoots in and drives through. Pearson sprawls well. Pearson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Beast is trying to maintain the position but Pearson is very close to passing his half guard. Beast is trying to stand back up but Pearson is controlling him
Pearson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Still in half guard, Pearson seems content to control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Beast wants to control but Pearson is keeping busy.
Pearson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Beast knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pearson on the ground. Beast has hold of Pearson's hands but Pearson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Pearson is keen to just control but Beast is a slippery customer. Pearson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Pearson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Beast does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. That's one minute gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pearson connects with a nice short shot to Beast's temple. Pearson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Beast defending well though. Beast tries to roll over but Pearson keeps him under control. Pearson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pearson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Beast defends it well. Beast is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pearson scores with a couple of nice shots. Beast is breathing heavily. Pearson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beast with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Pearson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Pearson working Beast over with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pearson is trying to control. Beast wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pearson lands a nice short elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pearson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Pearson lands with a punch from half guard. Beast on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Beast tries to get out of the position. Pearson controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pearson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Pearson lands with a punch from half guard.
Beast is rocked! Beast on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Oh Beast is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Pearson lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Beast quite badly. Beast pulls Pearson in close trying to recover. Pearson postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Beast on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Beast doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
