Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jony Pedrosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jony Pedrosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Li!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li misses with a body kick.

Pedrosa shoots in and gets a takedown into Li's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pedrosa wants to stand but Li is controlling his posture from full guard.
Li is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pedrosa is controlling him.
Li is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pedrosa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Li is proving hard to escape from.
Li is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pedrosa is looking to work some ground and pound but Li has wrist control.
Pedrosa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pedrosa controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Li has his feet on Pedrosa's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Li lands a jab to Pedrosa's midsection.
Li tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pedrosa lands a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Li blocks a head kick by Pedrosa.
Pedrosa's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Pedrosa duly obliges.
Li tries for a takedown but Pedrosa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Pedrosa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pedrosa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Li sprawls well. Li wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pedrosa gets slowly back to his feet.

Pedrosa gets tackled into the cage by Li. Li maintains the clinch.
Li wants a takedown.
Li goes for a takedown attempt but Pedrosa pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jony Pedrosa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Li.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pedrosa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pedrosa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Li.

and Li counters with a big head kick but Pedrosa shrugs it off.
Li shoots in but no luck this time.
Li looks winded!
Pedrosa tries to close the distance and clinch but Li swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Li avoids the body shot from Pedrosa.
Pedrosa jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Pedrosa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Li to score an easy takedown into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Li missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Pedrosa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pedrosa controlling Li's posture.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pedrosa is on top in guard.
Pedrosa is pushing down on Li's leg trying to pass to half guard. Li is fighting to maintain full guard but Pedrosa has managed to sneak the leg through.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Li can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Li is refusing to be controlled, as Pedrosa sits in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Li is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jony Pedrosa dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Li moves into range and clinches up with Pedrosa.

Pedrosa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pedrosa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Li in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Li throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Li is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pedrosa has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Li is looking to defend but Pedrosa has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Li! Pedrosa pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Li taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jony Pedrosa!
