Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruud Lindegaard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yize Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li looks to land a combination but Lindegaard avoids it well.
Li misses with a jab, cross combination.

Li misses with a series of wild punches.
Li looks to clinch

and Lindegaard counters with a single leg into guard. Li didn't expect that.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Lindegaard drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Li manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lindegaard has Li in his guard.
Li wanted to stand there but Lindegaard had control of the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Lindegaard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Li gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lindegaard throws his legs up looking for a submission but Li uses it to pass to side control.
Li tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lindegaard is looking for a sweep.
Lindegaard is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Li's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Lindegaard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lindegaard tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Li seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Li should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Li tries to stand but can't do so whilst Lindegaard controls his leg.

Li stands up out of the half guard.
Li scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Li tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lindegaard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Lindegaard decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Li's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Li wants to stand up but Lindegaard is controlling him.

Lindegaard postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Li is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lindegaard, into his guard.
Li wants to stand but Lindegaard has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Li got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lindegaard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Li has managed to get both his arms back between Lindegaard's legs - danger averted.

Lindegaard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Li defends well.

Lindegaard has his foot on Li's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Li works his way back into a safe position though.

Lindegaard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lindegaard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Li doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Li manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Li tries to stand but Lindegaard is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ruud Lindegaard dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Li throws a nice looking combination but Lindegaard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Li misses with a body kick.
Li fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Lindegaard is out of range.
Li darts in trying to clinch

and Lindegaard counters with a takedown into side control.

Lindegaard is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Li knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Lindegaard working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lindegaard prevents Li from escaping the position.

Lindegaard tries for a kimura but Li is defending well.

Lindegaard has hold of Li's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Li seems comfortable defending it but Lindegaard has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Li is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Li is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lindegaard couldn't care less - he's delighted!
