Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jadimbu Muliva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Boulet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muliva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boulet swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Muliva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Boulet as he jumps to the side.
Boulet has his takedown stuffed
and Muliva counters with a takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Boulet tries to buck Muliva off but Muliva is having none of it.

Boulet gets back to half guard.
Muliva prevents Boulet from improving his position.
Muliva is looking to take a break and control but Boulet is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Boulet is refusing to be controlled, as Muliva sits in half guard.
Boulet is pressing down on Muliva's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Boulet is looking to sweep but instead, Muliva has passed into half guard.

Muliva tries to clinch up but Boulet circles away and keeps his distance.

and Boulet makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jadimbu Muliva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Muliva is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

and Muliva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boulet's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Muliva connects with a nice short shot to Boulet's temple.
Boulet wants to improve his position but Muliva is controlling well.
Muliva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Muliva avoids the attempt from Boulet to control.
