Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matheus Dias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gilbert Yvel! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yvel circles away from the clinch attempt.
Yvel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Dias blocks the body kick.
Yvel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yvel tries to clinch but Dias moves out of range. Dias doesn't manage to clinch there - Yvel circles away.
Yvel throws a sloppy head kick and Dias moves out of range easily. Dias misses with a hook. Yvel ducked under it nicely. Dias gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dias breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dias closes the distance and clinches. Dias wants to get back to striking at distance but Yvel won't allow it.
Yvel is trying to force a seperation but Dias has the dominant position. Yvel looks to throw an elbow but misses. Dias breaks the clinch.
Dias lands with an overhand left. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dias tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Yvel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Dias displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Yvel throws out the jab. Dias keeps the fight on the outside. Yvel throws a head kick that misses. Yvel misses with an uppercut. Yvel misses with a two punch combination.
Dias cracks Yvel on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Yvel falls backwards against the cage. Dias follows up with more strikes that drop Yvel to his knees. Dias keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Yvel! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matheus Dias!
