Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Lessouf! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Borat Sagdiyev! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lessouf closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sagdiyev to the mat! Sagdiyev manages to get full guard. Sagdiyev working for a triangle but Lessouf defends it easily.
Lessouf missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Lessouf lands a couple of digs. Lessouf in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lessouf with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Sagdiyev avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lessouf won't allow Sagdiyev to get back to his feet. Lessouf wants to pass the guard but Sagdiyev is keeping the position. Sagdiyev avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lessouf works over Sagdiyev with some ground and pound from guard. Lessouf keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sagdiyev's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lessouf pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sagdiyev is keeping the position for now. Sagdiyev is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sagdiyev is looking to stand up but Lessouf isn't so interested in that idea. Lessouf with a nice head shot there. Lessouf throws a big elbow that misses. Lessouf lands a couple of decent looking shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sagdiyev is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sagdiyev looks winded! Lessouf distracts Sagdiyev with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lessouf stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sagdiyev swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lessouf is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lessouf throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sagdiyev works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lessouf lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lessouf working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sagdiyev's head. Lessouf throwing strikes from guard but Sagdiyev blocks nicely. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lessouf stands up over Sagdiyev, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Lessouf chips away with some ground and pound. Sagdiyev has momentary wrist control but Lessouf slips an elbow through the middle. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lessouf lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lessouf drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lessouf jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Lessouf lands a couple of digs. Lessouf distracts Sagdiyev with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Lessouf connects with a couple of short punches. Lessouf scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Lessouf works a leg free and moves into half guard. Lessouf slips a nice elbow through Sagdiyev's hands, connecting with Sagdiyev's forehead. Lessouf seems to be looking for submissions.
Lessouf winds up and cracks Sagdiyev with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lessouf scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Lessouf is trying to work for a kimura but Sagdiyev is defending well.

Lessouf takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Sagdiyev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lessouf. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lessouf takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
