Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheng Jen Kuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mao Zedong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sheng Jen Kuo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mao Zedong! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuo jabs Zedong right on the nose. Zedong blinks but takes it well. Kuo lands the left hand. Kuo lands a head shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Zedong fails with a takedown attempt. Kuo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zedong to score an easy takedown into full guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Zedong avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kuo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Zedong is fighting to break Kuo's control of his arms but Kuo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kuo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuo with the ground and pound from mount. Zedong bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Kuo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Zedong defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kuo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zedong is one step ahead there. Kuo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Zedong with a nice head shot there. Zedong postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kuo wants to sweep here but Zedong controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kuo looking for a guillotine here but Zedong defends easily.
Kuo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Zedong sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kuo's guard. Zedong is thwarting Kuo's attempts to control the position. Kuo wants to improve his position but Zedong is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Zedong throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Zedong is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kuo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zedong. Zedong in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kuo tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Zedong!
