Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jaakoppi Myrsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodney Wallace! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Myrsky throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wallace steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Myrsky. Myrsky dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Wallace throws a solid leg kick but Myrsky takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Wallace. Myrsky jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wallace swings for the body but Myrsky moves out of range.
Myrsky avoids a kick to the body.
Wallace doesn't manage to clinch there - Myrsky circles away.
Wallace with a poor takedown and Myrsky counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Wallace trying to control here.
Myrsky looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. This has been an exciting period of action! Myrsky passes into side control, despite Wallace's attempt to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myrsky takes a little break here. Wallace wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Myrsky knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallace on the ground. Myrsky creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Myrsky grinds an elbow into Wallace's temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Myrsky connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Wallace some visible discomfort.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Myrsky content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Myrsky working the head with strikes. Myrsky cracks Wallace with an elbow. That is naaassty. Wallace is looking to regain half guard here but Myrsky keeps moving and retains side control. Wallace is trying to control Myrsky's posture but Myrsky avoids it. Myrsky in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Myrsky lands some shots froms side control. Myrsky lands a nice forearm strike. Myrsky takes a little break here. Wallace wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Myrsky cracks Wallace with a big right hand but Wallace just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace wants to get back to his feet. Myrsky controlling from side mount. Myrsky scoring with punches from side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wallace is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Myrsky's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Wallace tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Myrsky tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wallace knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Myrsky performing his best blanket impression for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jaakoppi Myrsky dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Myrsky throws a shot from downtown. Wallace moves away and avoids it. Myrsky gets a double leg takedown into Wallace's guard. Wallace is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Myrsky throws a strike but Wallace rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Myrsky keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myrsky looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Myrsky punching from the bottom. Myrsky wants to sweep here but Wallace controlling him for the moment. Myrsky is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace trying to control but Myrsky is working from the bottom. Wallace stopping the sweep attempt from Myrsky. Jaakoppi Myrsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rodney Wallace has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Myrsky lands a right hook to the body.
Myrsky blocks a head kick by Wallace.
Wallace tries to clinch there but Myrsky circles away.
Rodney Wallace is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Myrsky tries to bum rush Wallace with a series of wild strikes but Wallace uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wallace does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Myrsky circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jaakoppi Myrsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Myrsky throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Wallace moves away from the strike by Myrsky.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Myrsky missing with a left hand there. Wallace was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Wallace shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Myrsky defends it nicely. Wallace with a poor takedown and Myrsky counters with a takedown into side control. Wallace is breathing heavily. Myrsky scoring with punches and elbows. Myrsky controls the position from side control. Wallace struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Myrsky happy to just control the position for now. Wallace is trying to improve his position. This has been an exciting period of action! Myrsky lands a nice forearm strike. Myrsky creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Myrsky looks up at the clock and then as Wallace takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Myrsky smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jaakoppi Myrsky dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Wallace swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Myrsky is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wallace's half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wallace is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Myrsky scores with a couple of nice shots. Myrsky content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Wallace is looking for a sweep. Myrsky is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myrsky is pressing down on Wallace's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wallace is holding on for now. Wallace actively working from the bottom here. Myrsky content to control rather than advance. Myrsky passes to full mount! Myrsky lands a nice shot to the head. Jaakoppi Myrsky is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Myrsky takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Wallace tries to get back to half guard but can't. Myrsky controlling from the full mount. Wallace really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Myrsky controlling the position easily from mount. Myrsky seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wallace for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wallace working to try and regain half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jaakoppi Myrsky wasn't doing enough on the ground. Myrsky swings widly with a right hand
and Wallace counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wallace tries to sprawl but Myrsky drives through with a takedown into half guard. Myrsky perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Rodney Wallace has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wallace looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jaakoppi Myrsky showed his dominance in that final round. Well Myrsky has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Jaakoppi Myrsky! A less than humble Jaakoppi Myrsky misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
