PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mak Artur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artur's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, I shall return. Frankie Russo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Artur feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Russos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Russo lands with a nice combination. Artur backs away looking to recover.
Artur throws a hook but Russo blocks it.
Russo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Russo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Mak Artur has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frankie Russo.

Russo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Horrible takedown by Russo or perhaps it was just good defense by Artur which made him look bad.

Artur lands with a hook. Russo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Russo is rocked!
Artur lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Russo up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Artur from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Russo's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mak Artur!
Mak Artur decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
