Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sanchez Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Weirdman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weirdman misses with a series of wild punches.
Sanchez Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rua misses with a head kick.
Rua throws a sloppy body shot
and Weirdman counters by moving into the clinch. Rua fails to pull guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Weirdman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Weirdman prevents Rua from getting back to his feet. Rua is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Weirdman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rua's guard. Weirdman wants to stand and escape but instead Rua has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Weirdman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weirdman pulls Rua in close to prevent any damage.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chris Weirdman wasn't active enough on the ground. Rua swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Weirdman counters with a nice body shot. Rua misses with a double jab
and Weirdman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rua ducks right into an uppercut from Weirdman. Weirdman stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Rua on the wrong end of a nice jab. Weirdman lands the left hand. Rua will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weirdman sizes up Rua with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Weirdman lands a head shot. Weirdman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Weirdman scores with a nice head shot. Weirdman getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Rua drops his hands momentarily and Weirdman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Weirdman tests Rua's chin there with a solid looking shot. Weirdman lands a nice looking body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Nice takedown defense from Weirdman. No joy for Rua on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sanchez Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him. Weirdman cracks Rua with an open hand slap. Rua shoots in but Weirdman avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nice sprawl there from Weirdman as Rua shoots in. Rua tries to clinch there but Weirdman circles away.

Weirdman thuds his right hand into Rua's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Weirdman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Rua misses with a body punch

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua dives in and grabs Weirdman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Weirdman pushes down on Rua's head and hops out. Rua tries to clinch and Weirdman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Weirdman is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Rua had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rua looks to clinch and Weirdman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Rua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Weirdman pinned against the cage. Weirdman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Weirdman works the jab nicely. Weirdman lands with a straight right. Rua didn't see that one coming. Rua tries to clinch but fails miserably and Weirdman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weirdman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Weirdman duly obliges. Weirdman might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Weirdman lands the left hand. Rua shoots in for a double leg but Weirdman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Weirdman dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Weirdman lands a jab. Weirdman goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Weirdman displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Rua rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Weirdman moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Weirdman scores with a nice right hand.
Rua wants to clinch letting Weirdman counter with a right hand. Weirdman tests Rua's chin there with a solid looking shot. Rua shoots in looking for a takedown but Weirdman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rua's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice jab there from Weirdman.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weirdman cracks Rua with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Rua on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Chris Weirdman seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rua shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Weirdman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rua on the side of the head. Weirdman connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rua momentarily.
Rua wants to clinch but Weirdman slips to the side and Weirdman counters with a leg kick. Rua looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Rua blocks the body kick.
Rua pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Rua takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Rua on the wrong end of a nice hook. Weirdman fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rua on the side of the head. Weirdman lands with a nice body punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua tries to move into range but Weirdman moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Rua fails with a takedown attempt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rua gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Weirdman. Rua shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Weirdman cracks Rua with a good jab. Rua takes a jab right on the kisser.
Rua misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Weirdman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Rua is pressed up against the cage. Weirdman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rua down to the mat. Rua avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Weirdman lands an overhand right. Good shot there by Weirdman. Rua misses with a few strikes there.
Rua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Weirdman pinned against the cage. Weirdman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Weirdman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weirdman scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Weirdman uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. That's gotta hurt. Rua does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Weirdman connects with a single shot there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rua takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua walks into a left hand. Rua fails with the takedown and Weirdman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Weirdman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Rua is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rua takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Rua on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch but Weirdman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rua tries a head kick but it misses.
Rua tries to score a power double leg takedown but Weirdman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rua somewhat. Rua shoots in for a takedown but Weirdman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Weirdman moves into range and connects with a jab. Weirdman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua walks into a straight right hand from Weirdman. Weirdman connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Rua shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Weirdman but Weirdman pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sanchez Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rua swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Rua checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Rua shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Weirdman as he avoids it easily. Nice cross by Weirdman. Rua shoots for a double leg takedown but Weirdman sprawls well. He's pushed Rua's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weirdman connects with a crisp jab. Rua throws a leg kick that is checked and Weirdman counters with a straight right hand. Rua tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Weirdman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rua. Sanchez Rua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Weirdman cracks Rua with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Sanchez Rua has been cut. Weirdman lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Rua closes the distance looking to clinch and Weirdman counters with a stiff right hand. The crowd cheers as Weirdman lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rua doesn't seem phased though. Weirdman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weirdman avoids the head kick by Rua.
Weirdman circles away from the clinch attempt and Weirdman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Weirdman throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Weirdman connects with a crisp jab. Weirdman feints a jab promting Rua to slip. Weirdman then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rua slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Weirdman lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Rua tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Weirdman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Weirdman.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua goes for a takedown attempt but Weirdman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Weirdman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weirdman closes the distance and lands a one-two. Sanchez Rua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chris Weirdman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Weirdman takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Weirdman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Weirdman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
