Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nathan Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Zhuravlevich! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Zhuravlevich circles away from the clinch attempt and Zhuravlevich counters with a nice uppercut. Lee gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Zhuravlevich counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Zhuravlevich tries to score a body lock takedown but Lee shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Zhuravlevich wants a takedown but no success here.
Zhuravlevich gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lee.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zhuravlevich goes for a takedown attempt but Lee pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nathan Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergey Zhuravlevich.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee shoots in for a takedown but Zhuravlevich shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Zhuravlevich slips a jab and a cross from Lee.
Lee tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Zhuravlevich holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Zhuravlevich with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Zhuravlevich is trying to trip Lee. He has hold of a leg but Lee is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Zhuravlevich persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Lee is trying to control the position but Zhuravlevich postures up. Zhuravlevich stands up over Lee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Lee has his feet on Zhuravlevich's thighs here. He's pushed Zhuravlevich off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Zhuravlevich screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
