The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers lands a nice looking kick to the body. Vipen takes a step back to recover.
Zeke Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vipen looks winded!
Powers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Powers has Vipen up against the cage in a clinch.
Powers with a knee to the head.
It looks like Tony Vipen has been cut.
Powers's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Vipen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Powers has him pressed against the cage.
Powers manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Powers is pawing at Vipen, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Vipen's nose. Vipen is badly hurt! Powers pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Vipen tries desperately to hold on but Powers is relentless in his assault! As Vipen receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Powers away and this one is in the books!
