Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnashu Kaneson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leidiano Jos Brito! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brito misses with a takedown attempt and Kaneson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brito's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Brito wants to improve his position but instead Kaneson has moved into half guard.
Kaneson wants to take a breather but Brito is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brito is defending against the submission attempts here by Kaneson.
Kaneson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brito's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaneson is taking a breather. Brito says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Brito is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Brito tries to get to full guard but Kaneson has control of the leg. Kaneson wants to take a breather but Brito is having none of it. Brito really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kaneson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kaneson thows a body shot but no joy. Brito shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kaneson but Kaneson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Johnashu Kaneson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leidiano Jos Brito. Brito fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Brito looking to score a takedown here. Kaneson is defending well but Brito drives through and ends up in Kaneson's guard. Kaneson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brito is controlling him. Brito is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kaneson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Brito is working Kaneson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Brito engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kaneson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brito is controlling him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Leidiano Jos Brito hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Brito shoots in but no luck this time. Kaneson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brito as he jumps to the side. Kaneson shoots in but Brito avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kaneson is breathing heavily. Brito is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kaneson's half guard. Brito is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kaneson defends it well. Kaneson wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Brito seems content to control. Kaneson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Brito stands up and beckons Kaneson to join him on the feet. Brito changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kaneson tries to avoid it but Brito manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kaneson to the ground. Kaneson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Brito scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brito is taking a breather. Kaneson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Let's hope that Brito has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Brito passes the guard and advances to mount! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Brito unloading with bombs! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kaneson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Brito. Kaneson is bucking up trying to escape but Brito cracks him with another couple of good strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leidiano Jos Brito dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kaneson looks to land a combination but Brito avoids it well. Brito manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kaneson on his heels. He'll look to pass Kaneson's guard now, I'm sure. Kaneson has a closed guard, preventing Brito from standing up. Brito controls from within his opponent's guard. Kaneson wants to stand up but Brito is controlling him. Brito stands up from Kaneson's guard - Brito perhaps looking for a knockout. Kaneson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brito sprawls well. Brito wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kaneson gets slowly back to his feet. Kaneson blocks a head kick by Brito.
Brito shoots for a takedown but Kaneson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brito looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Brito fails with a takedown attempt. Johnashu Kaneson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leidiano Jos Brito. Kaneson tries to clinch up but Brito circles away and keeps his distance. Brito shoots in and bounces Kaneson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kaneson wants to stand and escape but Brito is having none of it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brito seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Brito distracts Kaneson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kaneson wants to get back to his feet but Brito is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Brito is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Brito working some strikes from top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brito stops Kaneson from standing up. Brito stands up and waves to Kaneson to follow him. Brito misses with a head kick.
Brito misses with a takedown attempt - Kaneson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Brito fails to land the takedown. Leidiano Jos Brito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kaneson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brito counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kaneson won't be happy with that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaneson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Brito is putting a hurting on Kaneson here, landing some big shots from side control. Kaneson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Brito has just dragged him back down to the mat. Brito cracks Kaneson with a big right hand but Kaneson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kaneson is rocked! Kaneson pushes Brito away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Brito gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Oh Kaneson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Brito decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kaneson to his feet. Brito darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brito looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Brito is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Brito drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Brito gets to his feet - Kaneson follows without any prompting. Brito throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kaneson's waist but Kaneson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brito off to one side. Brito shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brito was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kaneson is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Brito scoring with punches from side control. Brito is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kaneson has escaped the position, nice work there. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Brito decides to take the fight back to the feet. Kaneson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leidiano Jos Brito showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Kaneson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Brito tries for a takedown but Kaneson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Brito shoots and misses and Kaneson counters with a single leg into guard. Brito didn't expect that. Johnashu Kaneson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Brito stays in close to Kaneson's body and controls the position. Kaneson wants to stand up but Brito is controlling him.

There ya go! There ya go! Brito distracts Kaneson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brito slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Brito won't allow Kaneson to get back to his feet.

Brito fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
