Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Rodey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinhjo Babalu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rodey might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ice Ice Baby. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babalu uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rodey.
Babalu wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Babalu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rodey swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rodey stuffs the takedown attempt from Babalu. Babalu gets slowly back to his feet.
A head kick misses from Babalu.
Rodey throws the left hand but Babalu avoids the punch easily.
Babalu moves out of range as Rodey strikes.
Babalu tries to clinch but Rodey is having none of it.
Babalu throws a body punch but Rodey moves out of range.
Babalu ducks under a wild hook from Rodey.
Rodey dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Babalu. That did some damage!

Rodey throws a shot from downtown. Babalu moves away and avoids it.
Rodey throws a hook but Babalu avoids it easily.
Babalu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rodey.
Babalu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Babalu misses with a double jab.

Rodey avoids the head kick by Babalu.
Babalu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rodey.
Babalu is looking to clinch.
Babalu shoots in but Rodey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sean Rodey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sinhjo Babalu.
Babalu looks gassed!

Rodey throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rodey bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Rodey misses the jab.

Rodey looks to land a right hand but Babalu moved out of range.

A head kick misses from Babalu.
Rodey digs a good body shot into Babalu's ribs.
Babalu is looking to clinch but Rodey is avoiding it.
Babalu tries to close the distance and clinch but Rodey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Babalu slips under a jab.
Babalu shoots for a double leg takedown but Rodey sprawls well. He's pushed Babalu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rodey forces Babalu back against the cage and clinches.
Babalu pushes off an throws an elbow but Rodey leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Rodey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A telegraphed right hand from Rodey misses the target.
Rodey ducks under a wild hook from Babalu.
Rodey is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rodey throws a big shot that misses.
Babalu shoots in but Rodey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rodey misses with a hook. Babalu ducked under it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Babalu closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Babalu is rocked!
Babalu tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rodey counters with a nice body shot.
Babalu is still on wobbly legs! Can Rodey finish him?
A swing and a miss from Rodey.
Babalu seems to have recovered his senses.
Rodey walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Babalu checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Babalu with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rodey to score with a decent uppercut.
Babalu closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rodey scores with a counter punch that sends Babalu to the canvas! Rodey smells blood - he's punishing Babalu with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Babalu has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sean Rodey!
