Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zeus Easy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy The Grinn! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by The Grinn. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The Grinn taking a breather here. The Grinn works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. A lull in the action here as The Grinn stalls from top position. Easy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but The Grinn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Easy on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The Grinn controls the position. Easy sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Easy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The Grinn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Grinn scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The Grinn working over Easy with some ground and pound. Easy looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The Grinn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The Grinn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Easy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Easy actively working from the bottom here. Easy looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and The Grinn pushes past his half guard into mount! The Grinn prevents Easy from getting the reversal. The Grinn content just to control the position here. Easy manages to regain half guard. Good work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with The Grinn in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jimmy The Grinn has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Easy takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The Grinn defending well as Easy loads up on a big left hand. The Grinn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Easy is letting The Grinn control him for a moment. It looks like The Grinn might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Grinn working away. The Grinn controls the position from side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The Grinn working the ground and pound. The Grinn in side control, just content to control the action for now. The Grinn landing strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Easy is trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Grinn dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Easy has had enough and taps out.
