Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sami Tarake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesse Murdoch!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tarake pushes Murdoch up against the cage in a clinch.

Murdoch jumps into guard, dragging Tarake to the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Tarake passes Murdoch's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Murdoch is trying to control but can't.
Murdoch keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Tarake is controlling the pace.
Tarake tries to pass to full mount but Murdoch defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tarake keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sami Tarake just wasn't active enough.

Tarake closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tarake lands in his opponent's guard.
Tarake controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tarake wanted to stand there but Murdoch had control of the position.
Murdoch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sami Tarake just wasn't active enough.

Tarake gets a clinch.

Tarake wants the takedown. Murdoch is fighting it off but Tarake persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Murdoch's guard against the cage.
Tarake wants to stand but Murdoch is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tarake wants to pass the guard but Murdoch is keeping the position.
Tarake's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Tarake seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Murdoch for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sami Tarake wasn't doing enough on the ground.
A bone on bone clash there as Tarake blocks the leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tarake gets caught napping as Murdoch dives in and scores a takedown. Tarake manages to retain guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tarake avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Tarake seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Murdoch stops Tarake from standing up.
Murdoch being controlled here momentarily.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Murdoch content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Tarake has locked up a guillotine! Tarake's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Murdoch is holding on here and Tarake must be using up a lot of energy. Murdoch has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Tarake gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sami Tarake!
A very excited looking Sami Tarake made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
