Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shey Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Akulov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foster shoots in for a double leg but Akulov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Foster misses with a takedown attempt
and Akulov counters with a shoot takedown. Foster fights it but they end up in guard.
Akulov is looking to work some ground and pound but Foster has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Akulov distracts Foster with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Akulov scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Akulov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Akulov distracts Foster with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Akulov tries to free his leg and advance position but Foster is retaining full guard.

Akulov passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Akulov cracks Foster with a big right hand but Foster just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Foster is breathing heavily.
Foster takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Akulov wants to control but Foster is keeping him busy.
Foster on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Foster is letting Akulov control him for a moment.
Let's hope that Akulov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Check out the look on Akulov's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Foster could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Akulov grinds an elbow into Foster's temple.
Akulov in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Foster looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Akulov turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
