Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sakari Ostermalm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Kovalsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ostermalm comes into the arena with Speedy ja Saku - Hän mies blaring out of the sound system. Kovalsky has chosen Metallica - Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sakari Ostermalm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Kovalsky! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovalsky stalks Ostermalm and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ostermalm's face. Ostermalm staggers backwards, shaken. Kovalsky shoots in but no luck this time. Matt Kovalsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kovalsky looks gassed! Kovalsky looks to land a right hand but Ostermalm moved out of range. Ostermalm swats away the attempt to clinch by Kovalsky. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Ostermalm moves into the clinch successfully.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ostermalm creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Ostermalm can't get the takedown.

Sakari Ostermalm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Kovalsky. Ostermalm manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Ostermalm manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kovalsky manages to get himself to full guard.
Ostermalm drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ostermalm jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ostermalm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kovalsky works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kovalsky is working an open guard so Ostermalm takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Kovalsky changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ostermalm tries to avoid it but Kovalsky manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ostermalm to the ground. Ostermalm escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kovalsky closes the distance and clinches up with Ostermalm, looking for a takedown. Kovalsky pushes Ostermalm against the cage but Ostermalm circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ostermalm gets caught flat footed, as Kovalsky shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kovalsky must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kovalsky throwing strikes but missing. Ostermalm had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kovalsky is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ostermalm Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kovalsky's back instead. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kovalsky tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Ostermalm has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Kovalsky is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
