Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenny Kingman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Brown! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kingman tries to clinch up. Kingman misses with a leg kick and Brown counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kingman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kingman is controlling Brown's posture. Kingman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but Kingman is retaining full guard. Brown must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kingman has his hands on Brown's head, controlling the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Kenny Kingman wasn't doing enough on the ground. Kingman clinches up with Brown and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kingman lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Brown is looking for a sweep. Kingman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown keeping control of the position. Brown looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Brown on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kingman prevents Brown from improving his position. Kingman slows the pace down in half guard. Brown looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kingman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Brown is trying to reverse the position but instead Kingman has taken his back - oops! Kingman keeps control of the position as Brown tries to break free.
Kingman lands a shot to the head. Kingman trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Brown doesn't escape. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kingman punishes Brown with strikes from the back mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingman keeps control of the position easily here as Brown tries to buck him off.
Brown is taking damage to the body and head. Kingman slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Kingman has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Brown has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brown just trying to survive but Kingman is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kingman is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Brown is keeping busy.
Kenny Kingman has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Brown shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kingman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Brown's corner. There ya go! There ya go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenny Kingman dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Brown avoids the body shot from Kingman.
Kingman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Brown! Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kingman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kingman passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Brown! Brown tries to reverse the position but Kingman maintains control. Kingman trying to control but Brown is having none of it. Brown is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kingman swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Brown is now in Kingman's guard. A big mistake from Kingman there, giving up the dominant position! Brown is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kingman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kingman has escaped and now he's on top! Kingman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kingman looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Kingman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brown for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kingman wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Kenny Kingman just wasn't active enough. Brown gets a takedown into half guard. Kingman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kingman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kingman looking for a sweep. Not yet Kingman, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kingman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brown has managed to get both his arms back between Kingman's legs - danger averted. Kingman is looking to stand up but Brown isn't so interested in that idea. Brown drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kingman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kingman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kingman! Brown is trying to improve his position. Kingman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Brown closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brown lands in his opponent's guard. Brown is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kingman is looking to stand up but Brown isn't so interested in that idea. Brown trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Brown postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kingman pushes Brown off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Kingman motions for Brown to come forward. Kingman throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A punch combination from Brown misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenny Kingman dominated that second round. That's time! Kingman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Kingman forces Brown back against the cage and clinches. Brown has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kingman regains guard immediately. Kingman wants to stand and escape but Brown is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kingman is trying to control the position but Brown postures up. Kingman wants to sweep here but Brown controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown wants to pass the guard but Kingman is keeping the position. Kingman throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Kingman is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kingman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We're going to have a standup here because Kenny Kingman wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Kingman scores with a takedown into Brown's guard. Kingman wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving. Kingman stopping the sweep attempt from Brown. Kingman trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown working for submissions but it's allowed Kingman to get to half guard.
Kingman stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Kingman tries to clinch up. Kingman moves into the clinch successfully.
Kingman pulls guard effortlessly. Kenny Kingman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kingman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brown manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingman trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kingman gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Kingman avoids the body shot from Brown.
Kingman clinches up with Brown and pushes him back against the cage. Brown has Kingman pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Brown pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kingman tumbling to the mat - Brown dives into Kingman's guard. Kingman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Brown looking to sit in guard and control but Kingman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kingman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kingman controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Kenny Kingman showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kingman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
