Lockley's entrance music is Disney's Gummy Bears Intro (Rus). A fine choice. Badolato has chosen Nneka - Heartbeat as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Lockley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darius Badolato! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lockley thows a body kick. Badolato tries to catch it but that hurt him. Badolato throws a sloppy head kick and Lockley moves out of range easily. Badolato misses with a body kick. Badolato throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Badolato throws a predictable looking body shot
and Lockley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Darius Badolato has been cut. Lockley throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Badolato shoots in looking for a takedown. Lockley tries to sprawl out of it but Badolato keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lockley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Badolato lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Badolato shoots in looking for a takedown but Lockley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Badolato's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A slapping leg kick lands for Badolato.
Kevin Lockley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lockley pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Lockley misses the body punch and Badolato counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body kick from Badolato. Badolato walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Badolato checks a low kick from Lockley. Lockley throws a nice inside leg kick. Badolato misses with a low kick as Lockley jumps back. Badolato looks to score with a jab to the body but Lockley is just out of range. Badolato keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lockley throws a series of punches but Badolato avoids them all with ease. Badolato throws a right hand that misses
enabling Lockley to counter with a crisp jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lockley misses with a looping right. Badolato shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Lockley throws a wild body kick that Badolato sees coming a mile off. Lockley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Badolato connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Badolato throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Badolato looks to score with a jab to the body but Lockley is just out of range. Kevin Lockley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lockley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lockley tests Badolato's chin there with a solid looking shot. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lockley.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Badolato blocks a leg kick. Badolato has a takedown stuffed. Kevin Lockley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darius Badolato. Lockley moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Lockley lands a lovely overhand right. Lockley tries to bum rush Badolato with a series of wild strikes but Badolato uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lockley misses with a body kick. Badolato uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lockley.
Lockley tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Badolato lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like Kevin Lockley has been cut. Lockley misses with a double jab
and Badolato counters with a takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lockley is being controlled here. Lockley tries to get back to half guard but can't. Badolato creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lockley sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Badolato throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Badolato lands an elbow. You can see the frustration on Lockley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Badolato is looking to take a break and control but Lockley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lockley is not in a great position here, taking some shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kevin Lockley will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A low kick from Lockley is predictable there and Badolato counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Badolato. Badolato working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lockley keeping full guard, as Badolato tries to pass. Badolato trying to control but Lockley is working from the bottom. Badolato throws an elbow that misses. Lockley uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Badolato's guard. Nice move by Lockley! Badolato looking for a sweep. Not yet Badolato, not yet. Badolato is looking to sweep but instead, Lockley has passed into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lockley content to control rather than advance. Badolato tries to roll over but Lockley keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kevin Lockley. Lockley swings away with a leg kick that misses. Badolato tries to land a front kick but Lockley steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Badolato checks a leg kick nicely. Badolato misses with a wild body shot. Badolato wants to clinch up but Lockley keeps it at a distance. Badolato blocks a head kick by Lockley.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lockley waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Badolato. Lockley is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Lockley swats away the attempt to clinch by Badolato. Badolato avoids a kick to the body.
Badolato scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Badolato scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Lockley thows a body kick. Badolato tries to catch it but that hurt him. Badolato takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Badolato thows a leg kick but Lockley checks it and Lockley counters with a body kick that stops Badolato in his tracks momentarily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Badolato thuds his shin into the meat of Lockley's side. Lockley scores with a hook.
That has opened up Darius Badolato's cut even more.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lockley lands with an uppercut that bounces Badolato off the cage and back into range. Kevin Lockley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Badolato goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kevin Lockley is winning the standup battle so far. Badolato throws a low kick but Lockley moves out of range easily. Lockley throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lockley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lockley has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Badolato finds it's way round the side to connect with Lockley's head. Badolato avoids a kick to the body.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Badolato throws the kick towards the body but Lockley avoids it. Badolato takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Badolato fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lockley looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Darius Badolato will probably get the nod - 10:9. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Lockley throws a leg kick that is checked and Badolato counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lockley won't be happy with that. Badolato scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lockley to see if he's OK. Lockley is looking to regain half guard here but Badolato keeps moving and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lockley struggling a bit here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Badolato working the ground and pound but Lockley is defending the strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Badolato working the head with strikes. Badolato controlling the position. Lockley is trying to control Badolato's posture but Badolato avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Badolato wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lockley keeps working. Badolato is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Badolato throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Lockley gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Badolato sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lockley defending well though. Nice strikes from Badolato there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Badolato content to control rather than advance. Lockley is refusing to be controlled, as Badolato sits in half guard. Badolato trying to mount his opponent but Lockley defends it. Lockley is trying to get back to full guard. Lockley trying to control from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Badolato takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Lockley misses with the body kick and Badolato counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kevin Lockley's cut is getting worse. Lockley thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Badolato if he has to take too many more of those.
Lockley throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Badolato tests Lockley's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lockley buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lockley thows a left - swing and a miss! Lockley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Badolato was well out of range. Poor timing from Lockley. Badolato throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lockley is looking to land body kicks. Lockley with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lockley will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Lockley checks a leg kick nicely. Badolato uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lockley. A chopping leg kick lands by Badolato. Badolato on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Lockley misses with the combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. No luck for Badolato with that takedown attempt. Badolato is looking to score with low kicks.
And that's the end of the fight! Darius Badolato comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Badolato has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
