Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doren Salvador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Tom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Doren Salvador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Tom!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salvador gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Salvador turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Salvador manages to end up in side control.
Tom regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tom wants to improve his position but Salvador is controlling well.

Salvador stands up and beckons Tom to join him on the feet.
Salvador is looking to chop away at Tom's legs.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Tom.
Salvador is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tom is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Salvador knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Salvador pulls Tom in close to prevent any damage.
Tom is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tom stops Salvador from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salvador is pulling down on Tom's head. It's preventing any offense from Tom, at least for the moment.
Tom throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Salvador wants to sweep here but Tom controlling him for the moment.

Salvador is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tom defends well.

Salvador is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tom won't allow Salvador to get back to his feet.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Salvador has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Salvador counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Salvador.
Salvador is trying to force a seperation but Tom has the dominant position.

Salvador lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Salvador seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Salvador seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Tom has recovered full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Tom has a takedown stuffed.

Salvador clinches with his opponent.

Salvador tightens his grip and picks Tom up, before dumping him to the ground. Tom manages to land in guard.
Doren Salvador overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tom is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Salvador slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tom isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Salvador stacks Tom on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Salvador!
Salvador wants to stand but Tom has his arm trapped.

Tom is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Tom is breathing heavily.

Salvador decides to stand back up. Salvador steps back and let's Tom get back to his feet.

Salvador clinches up against the cage.

Salvador tightens his grip and picks Tom up, before dumping him to the ground. Tom manages to land in guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Salvador lands a nice short elbow.
Salvador slows the pace down in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salvador seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tom for as long as he can get away with.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Doren Salvador wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Nice sprawl there from Salvador as Tom shoots in.
Tom blocks a head kick by Salvador.

Salvador looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Tom!

Salvador decides to stand back up. Salvador steps back and let's Tom get back to his feet.
Tom closes the distance and clinches up with Salvador, looking for a takedown. Tom pushes Salvador against the cage but Salvador circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Doren Salvador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Tom.

Salvador shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Salvador was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Salvador stands up.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Salvador is pushing down on Tom's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tom is fighting to maintain full guard but Salvador has managed to sneak the leg through.

Salvador stands up out of the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doren Salvador dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Salvador has control of Tom's left arm, preventing Tom from doing any damage.
Tom trying to control the position from guard on top but Salvador is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Paul Tom wasn't active enough on the ground.

Salvador gets the takedown into side control.

Salvador controls the position.
Tom takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Salvador tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Salvador is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tom has escaped the position, nice work there.

Salvador looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Tom is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Salvador landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Tom is letting Salvador control him for a moment.
Salvador has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Tom!

Salvador looking to control and managing it successfully.

Salvador working for a submission but Tom is keeping him at bay.

Salvador wants to get back to his feet but Tom is holding on tight.
Tom wants to hold on but Salvador pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Salvador is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Paul Tom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Doren Salvador is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Salvador misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Doren Salvador showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Salvador has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
