The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flare takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Williamson thuds a left hand into Flare's body.
Nice sprawl there from Williamson as Flare shoots in.
Flare walks into a jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Flare.

Williamson closes the distance and clinches.
Williamson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Flare prevents it.
Williamson lands a nice shot to the body.
Williamson scores with a shoulder strike.
Flare swings wildly with an uppercut but Williamson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Williamson throws a punch but it's blocked by Flare.
Flare goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Williamson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Flare.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Flare. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williamson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Flares head.

Williamson tries to get to full guard but Flare has control of the leg.

Flare lands a couple of good shots and Williamson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Williamson is trying to get back to his feet but Flare has full control of the position and if anything, Williamson has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Flare is working the ground and pound. Can Williamson escape?
Flare has the hooks in. Williamson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Flare trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Flare connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Williamson to escape the position.
Flare controlling well, preventing Williamson from escaping the position.
Williamson is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Flare off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Flare gets his hands free as Williamson looks to control.
Williamson seems to have recovered his senses.

You can see the frustration on Williamson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Flare has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Williamson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Flare working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Williamson is doing well to defend. Flare seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Williamson is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rick Flare!
Rick Flare decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
