The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King fails with the takedown.
King circles away from the clinch attempt.
Miranda shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side.

Miranda moves into range and clinches up with King.

Miranda wants to improve his position but King is controlling well.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Miranda throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miranda tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Miranda misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

King feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee asks Miranda politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Miranda prefers to stall for the moment though.

King throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Miranda escapes and throws King's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The Island King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
King is looking to regain half guard here but Miranda keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but The Island King did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Miranda swings for the body but King moves out of range.
Miranda looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? King is fending him off so far but Miranda persists. Nope, King circles away and we're back to standing.

King postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Miranda is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of King, into his guard.

Miranda rolls with it to try and escape but King cranks on the arm and Miranda is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
