Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis has chosen Bloodsport as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis tries to clinch there but Barnett circles away.
Ellis lands a nice shot to the body.

Barnett dives in and grabs Ellis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ellis pushes down on Barnett's head and hops out.
Matt Barnett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barnett drives through with a takedown into Ellis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Barnett drops back looking for a leg! Ellis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ellis manages to kick Barnett off! Barnett jumps back into Ellis's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barnett slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Barnett postures up in Ellis's guard and throws a big left but Ellis blocks it.
Barnett controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Barnett with a nice head shot there.
Barnett is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Barnett has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ellis looking for a sweep. Not yet Ellis, not yet.
Barnett's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We're going to have a standup here because Matt Barnett wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ellis stuffs the takedown attempt from Barnett. Barnett gets slowly back to his feet.
Barnett fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ellis to the ground. Barnett is now in Ellis's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ellis controls Barnett momentarily but Barnett frees himself.
Barnett is looking to work some ground and pound but Ellis has wrist control.

Barnett throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Barnett slows the pace down in half guard.
Barnett's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Barnett is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Matt Barnett just wasn't active enough.
Barnett shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ellis sprawls well. Ellis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barnett gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Barnett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ellis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Barnett manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barnett shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ellis napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Barnett slows the pace down.
Ellis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barnett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barnett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Barnett has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ellis is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Barnett yanks on the arm and Ellis is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Barnett.

Matt Barnett decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
