The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stifler gets a takedown into half guard.
Stifler is looking to take a break and control but Stamatis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stamatis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stifler stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stamatis walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Stifler checks a leg kick.
Stamatis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stifler manages to avoid it.
Stamatis throws a push kick but Stifler slaps the foot to one side.
Stifler misses with an uppercut.
Stamatis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stifler was well out of range. Poor timing from Stamatis.

Stamatis is looking to wear down Stifler with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stifler .

Stifler has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Stifler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stamatis swivels and escapes.

Stifler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stamatis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stamatis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Stamatis postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Stifler lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Stifler ! Stamatis is hurt baaadly! Stifler is firing away with more strikes - Stamatis is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
