Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luca Carmine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luca Carmine!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spencer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Carmine quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Carmine keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Spencer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carmine keeps working.
Carmine avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Spencer.
Carmine is trying to stand up here but Spencer is controlling him well.

Carmine stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Spencer throws a hook to the side of Carmine's head but Carmine sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Carmine lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Carmine loads up on a big right hand but Spencer slips the punch.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Spencer will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Carmine moves out of range as Spencer strikes.
Spencer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carmine is fending him off so far but Spencer persists. Nope, Carmine circles away and we're back to standing.
Spencer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Carmine as he jumps to the side.
Carmine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Spencer manages to avoid it.

Carmine cracks a nice hook into Spencer's ribs.

Carmine throws a good cross that connects.

Carmine throws a jab when Spencer was well out of range.

Spencer shoots in for a double leg but Carmine sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Carmine is in a horrible position here. Spencer smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Spencer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carmine with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
