Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kent Pedersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mason Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw misses with a series of wild punches.
Pedersen lands a head kick. Shaw smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Mason Shaw has been cut.
Pedersen throws a head kick that misses.

Shaw clinches.
Shaw tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pedersen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pedersen lands a knee to the head.
Shaw taking a breather.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Pedersen gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Pedersen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Shaw is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pedersen to the mat. Pedersen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pedersen looking for a sweep. Not yet Pedersen, not yet.
Shaw trying to control but Pedersen is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pedersen is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shaw is trying to control the position but Pedersen postures up.
Pedersen preventing the sweep.
Pedersen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Pedersen pushes down on Shaw's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Pedersen controlling the action here.
Pedersen is pressing down on Shaw's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shaw is holding on for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pedersen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Shaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Shaw is not content to let Pedersen control the position.
Shaw wants to control the action here but instead Pedersen manages to pass to full mount!

Pedersen has hold of Shaw's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Shaw manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shaw really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Shaw is trying to control the position here but Pedersen swings around for an armbar and he's got it! This one is all over, courtesy of a slick submission by Pedersen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kent Pedersen!
Kent Pedersen tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
