Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Jones! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin misses with a wild combination.
Griffin forces Jones back against the cage and clinches. Jones looking to slow down the pace here. Griffin is pressed up against the cage. Jones has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Griffin down to the mat. Griffin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Griffin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Griffin working away. Griffin throwing shots but missing, from side control. Griffin trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom. Jones takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin controlling the action here. Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Griffin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Griffin's back! Jones is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Griffin knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Griffin for a finish. Griffin trying to control the hands but Jones won't let him. Jones controlling from the back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin tries to break free.
Griffin is working hard here to advance position. Jones keeps control of the position easily here as Griffin tries to buck him off.
Griffin controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Griffin's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin is taking damage to the body and head. Griffin is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Jones misses with a head kick.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Griffin. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet. Jones tries to keep at a distance but Griffin has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones trying to stall but Griffin improves his position.
Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Griffin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Jones jumps guard but Griffin stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Marcus Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Jones.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Griffin just stands there and leans against the cage. Griffin gets control of Jones's arms and successfully pulls guard. Griffin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Griffin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Griffin scoring with some ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones wants to control but Griffin passes easily into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones gets full guard. Jones wants to sweep here but Griffin controlling him for the moment. Griffin is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Griffin dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Griffin clinches. Griffin wants the takedown. Jones is fighting it off but Griffin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jones's guard against the cage. Griffin stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jones wants to get back to his feet but Griffin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Griffin is proving a slippery customer.
Griffin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Jones is trying to control the position but Griffin postures up. Griffin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Griffin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Griffin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. This has been an exciting period of action! Griffin lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin scoring with punches to the head and body. Jones wants to stand and escape but Griffin is having none of it. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Griffin wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Griffin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. Jones trying to control the position here. Griffin scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Griffin looking to pass the guard. Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Griffin is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it. Griffin with a nice head shot there. Jones wants to sweep here but Griffin controlling him for the moment. Griffin throws an elbow that misses. Jones uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Griffin's guard. Nice move by Jones! Griffin has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up. Griffin is controlling Jones's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones! Griffin landing strikes from the mount and Jones is in trouble! Griffin landing strikes, looking to finish! Griffin unloading with bombs! Griffin is in the full mount, landing strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Griffin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones is in a horrible position here. Griffin smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Griffin lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jones is rocked! Jones is looking to get to half guard. Jones taking shots to the head. Jones is still in real trouble! Can Griffin finish him? Oooooh, big shot lands for Griffin! Jones is hurt baaadly! Griffin is firing away with more strikes - Jones is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcus Griffin!
