PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Lavronenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isamu Natsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lavronenko comes into the arena with Ex-Sektor Gaza - 'Dopilsya' blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Isamu Natsuki!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavronenko stuffs the takedown attempt from Natsuki. Natsuki gets slowly back to his feet.

Lavronenko feints and as Natsuki raises his hands in defense, Lavronenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Natsuki holds on and takes a little breather.

Natsuki has his foot on Lavronenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lavronenko works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lavronenko wants to pass the guard but Natsuki is keeping the position.

Natsuki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lavronenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lavronenko stands and throws Natsuki's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Natsuki takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Natsuki parries the strikes from Lavronenko easily there. Lavronenko is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Natsuki to escape.

Natsuki is trying to control Lavronenko's posture but Lavronenko avoids it.
Lavronenko looking to control but instead Natsuki has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Lavronenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Natsuki wants to get back to full guard but Lavronenko has mounted him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Natsuki tries for a takedown but Lavronenko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lavronenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Natsuki sprawls well. He's pushed Lavronenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lavronenko perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Natsuki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lavronenko is working away from the top position though.

Lavronenko wants to free his trapped foot but Natsuki is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Lavronenko uses his free foot to push down on Natsuki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Natsuki.
Lavronenko avoids the attempt from Natsuki to control.
Natsuki can't escape the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Natsuki is rocked!
A big strike lands for Lavronenko! That's really hurt Natsuki and he's turned his back - Lavronenko keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Lavronenko jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Lavronenko!
A very excited looking Ivan Lavronenko made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
