Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rowan Atkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Scheckler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Atkinson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Set to Fail. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rowan Atkinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ted Scheckler! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scheckler tries for a takedown but Atkinson circles away easily and Atkinson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Atkinson. Scheckler working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Atkinson. Scheckler not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Atkinson slips nicely into half guard. Atkinson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scheckler does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Atkinson lands with a punch from half guard. Atkinson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Scheckler is not content to let Atkinson control the position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Atkinson throwing shots but Scheckler is blocking nicely. Scheckler gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scheckler tries to land a sweep but no joy. Scheckler is pulling down on Atkinson's head to control his posture. Atkinson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Scheckler's guard. Atkinson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Scheckler's head. Scheckler is looking for a sweep. Atkinson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Scheckler wants to control but Atkinson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Scheckler regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Atkinson. Atkinson being controlled here momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atkinson stopping the sweep attempt from Scheckler. Atkinson trying to control but Scheckler is working from the bottom. Atkinson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Scheckler works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Atkinson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Scheckler keeping moving, preventing Atkinson from controlling successfully. Atkinson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Scheckler is keeping the position for now. Atkinson trying to control the position from guard on top but Scheckler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atkinson postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Rowan Atkinson just wasn't active enough. Horrible takedown by Atkinson or perhaps it was just good defense by Scheckler which made him look bad. Scheckler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Atkinson trying to control the position from guard on top but Scheckler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Atkinson is looking to advance position but Scheckler has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Scheckler lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Scheckler manages to capitalize on a mistake by Atkinson to take his back! Scheckler looking for the choke from the back. Scheckler throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atkinson breaks Scheckler's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Scheckler lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Atkinson! Scheckler looking to control but Atkinson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Atkinson wants to control but Scheckler is having none of it. Atkinson working to try and regain half guard.

Rowan Atkinson dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Nice sprawl there from Atkinson as Scheckler shoots in. Scheckler shoots in for a double leg but Atkinson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Atkinson looks for a takedown but Scheckler sprawls well. Atkinson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Scheckler sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Atkinson somewhat. Atkinson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Scheckler throws out the jab. Scheckler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Atkinson swivels and escapes. Rowan Atkinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Scheckler. Scheckler closes this distance looking for a takedown but Atkinson circles away. Atkinson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Horrible takedown by Scheckler or perhaps it was just good defense by Atkinson which made him look bad. Scheckler gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Atkinson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Atkinson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Atkinson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Atkinson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Scheckler regains full guard. Nicely done. Atkinson wants to pass the guard but Scheckler is keeping the position. Scheckler looking for a sweep. Not yet Scheckler, not yet. Atkinson throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Atkinson stands and throws Scheckler's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scheckler wants to control but Atkinson postures up. Scheckler tries to bench press Atkinson off him but Atkinson keeps the position. Scheckler parries the strikes from Atkinson easily there. Atkinson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Scheckler to escape.
Scheckler is trying to control Atkinson's posture but Atkinson avoids it. Scheckler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Atkinson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Atkinson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Atkinson is putting a hurting on Scheckler here, landing some big shots from side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Scheckler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Atkinson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Atkinson is trying to ground and pound but Scheckler uses the momentary lack of control by Atkinson to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atkinson throws a strike but Scheckler avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Atkinson tries to free his leg and advance position but Scheckler is retaining full guard. Atkinson postures up in Scheckler's guard and throws a big left but Scheckler blocks it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Scheckler is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Atkinson pulls Scheckler in close to prevent any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Atkinson is on top in guard.
Atkinson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Atkinson won't allow Scheckler to sweep him here. Atkinson trying to control but Scheckler is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scheckler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Atkinson is one step ahead there. Scheckler is trying to keep Atkinson in close.

Rowan Atkinson dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Scheckler shoots in looking for a takedown but Atkinson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Scheckler's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Scheckler has his takedown stuffed and Atkinson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Scheckler! Atkinson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Scheckler is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Scheckler is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Scheckler struggling a bit here. Scheckler tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Atkinson easily slips into full mount! The referee warns Scheckler that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round. Atkinson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Scheckler is looking to get to half guard. Atkinson breaks from Scheckler's wrist control and lands an elbow. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Atkinson lands a couple of good shots and Scheckler has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Scheckler prevents Atkinson from getting a body triangle. Atkinson lands punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atkinson lands a series of strikes from the back and Scheckler goes limp! The ref jumps in to save him!
