Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Makosi Karolczak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Makosi Karolczak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Davis!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis throws a right and a left that Karolczak avoids nicely.
Davis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Karolczak moves out of range of the body kick from Davis.

Davis darts in and clinches Karolczak up against the cage.

Davis breaks the clinch.
Karolczak avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Karolczak circles away quickly and effectively.
A big left from Davis misses.
Karolczak shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense.
A combination from Davis does no damage.
Karolczak slips a jab and a cross from Davis.

Davis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Karolczak's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karolczak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Karolczak throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Karolczak is trying to get back to half guard.

Davis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Karolczak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Davis is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Karolczak is not content to let Davis control the position.

Davis is nestled in close to Karolczak, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Davis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Karolczak misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Karolczak gets back to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Karolczak is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Davis, into his guard.
Davis wants to stand but Karolczak is controlling the position.

Davis looking for a sweep. Not yet Davis, not yet.
Karolczak advances to half guard.
Davis gets full guard.
Davis has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Karolczak has passed into side control.
Davis tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Karolczak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Karolczak's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Davis wants to stand back up but Karolczak manages to pass into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Davis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Davis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Karolczak sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Michael Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis throws a leg kick but Karolczak checks it.
Davis moves to clinch but Karolczak breaks away

and Karolczak counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Karolczak.

Karolczak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Left hook, right uppercut from Davis.
Karolczak swats away the attempt to clinch by Davis.
Michael Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Davis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Karolczak moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Davis fails to land with a series of punches.
Davis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Karolczak pinned against the cage. Karolczak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Davis closes the distance looking to clinch

and Karolczak counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Karolczak.

Davis is trying to break the clinch but Karolczak has him pressed against the cage.

Karolczak breaks the clinch.
A big left from Davis misses.
Davis tries to clinch

and Karolczak counters with a nice double leg into side control. Davis won't be happy with that.
Davis is trying to get back to half guard.
Karolczak takes a little break here. Davis wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Karolczak trying to control the action but Davis is working from the bottom.

Davis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Karolczak is controlling him well.
Michael Davis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Davis tries to improve position but can't.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davis can do anything to dispel that myth.
Karolczak staying calm.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Karolczak drags him back down.

Karolczak is looking to take a break and control but Davis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Davis tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Davis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Karolczak takes a little break here. Davis wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
A control attempt from Davis but he's now mounted!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Karolczak controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Michael Davis will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


The fighters circling - Davis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Karolczak really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Davis doesn't manage to clinch there - Karolczak circles away.

Davis dives in and scores a takedown into Karolczak's guard.

Karolczak is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Davis frees his head nicely. Oh but Karolczak has switched to an armbar! Davis is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
