The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanford is looking to chop away at Liu 's legs.
Sanford bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Liu 's head.
Liu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A thudding body kick lands there by Liu !
Sanford tries a head kick but it misses.
Liu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sanford feints and then cracks Liu 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Liu down.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sanford.
Liu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sanford can pounce on him.
Sanford misses with an uppercut. Liu saw that one coming.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sanford.

and Sanford counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Liu is lucky that one didn't land flush.

so Liu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Liu wants to control from the top but Sanford keeps moving.
Liu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sanford's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Liu uses his free foot to push down on Sanford's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sanford.
Liu jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sanford is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sanford and Liu has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Liu is trying to get an arm triangle but Sanford is defending well.

Liu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sanford, who protects the arm well.
Sanford is looking to reverse the position.
Sanford knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Liu on the ground.

Liu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sanford is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Liu is working to tighten is grip on Sanford's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sanford has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Liu is really squeezing tight and eventually Sanford passes out! Liu breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

A relieved looking Yi Liu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
