Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bear Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronald Rousey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rousey has chosen Creepy Jackalope Eye by Supersuckers as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bear Stevenson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronald Rousey! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevenson clinches. Rousey is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Rousey has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stevenson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Stevenson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Rouseys head. Rousey pulls guard effortlessly. Stevenson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Stevenson scoring with some ground and pound. Rousey looking for a guillotine here but Stevenson defends easily.
Stevenson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Stevenson with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rousey looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rousey can't keep his opponent in guard - Stevenson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Rousey tries to roll over but Stevenson keeps him under control. Stevenson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rousey works his way to full guard. Good work. Stevenson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rousey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rousey tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rousey has momentary wrist control but Stevenson slips an elbow through the middle. Stevenson postures up and lands a big shot to Rousey's brow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rousey throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stevenson wants to control from the top but Rousey keeps moving. Rousey avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stevenson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rousey works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stevenson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Rousey striking off his back but it's not causing Stevenson any problems. Stevenson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Rousey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stevenson is one step ahead there. Stevenson trying to control the position from guard on top but Rousey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevenson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rousey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stevenson has managed to get both his arms back between Rousey's legs - danger averted. Rousey throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Stevenson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Stevenson landing some decent shots from guard. Rousey looking to control.
Rousey is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stevenson defends well. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rousey is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stevenson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rousey is aware though and is defending well. Rousey pushes down on Stevenson's leg and manages to get into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Stevenson tries to get to full guard but Rousey has control of the leg. Rousey is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Stevenson is defending against the submission attempts here by Rousey.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stevenson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rousey. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rousey looks for a takedown but Stevenson sprawls well. Rousey drops his hands momentarily and Stevenson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Bear Stevenson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stevenson throws out a powerful jab. Rousey has a takedown stuffed. Rousey throws a jab but it's blocked by Stevenson. Rousey fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Bear Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronald Rousey. Stevenson thuds his right hand into Rousey's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Stevenson looks to score with a jab to the body but Rousey is just out of range. Stevenson lands with a straight right. Rousey didn't see that one coming. Rousey misses with a wild body shot. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Stevenson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rousey.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rousey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stevenson manages to avoid it. Stevenson connects with the punch.
It looks like Ronald Rousey has been cut. Stevenson pushes Rousey up against the cage in a clinch. Stevenson works on Rousey's body with a couple of short punches. Stevenson lands with a short shot to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A short uppercut from Stevenson. Stevenson pressing his opponent against the cage. Stevenson lands an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rousey is looking to break free of the clinch but Stevenson has double underhooks. Stevenson leaning his opponent against the cage. Rousey can't break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A shot in the inside from Stevenson. Stevenson works on Rousey's body with a couple of short punches. Stevenson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rousey just misses with a punch to the body.
Rousey shoots in for a takedown but Stevenson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Stevenson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A right-left combo lands from Stevenson. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rousey has his takedown stuffed and Stevenson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bear Stevenson dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Ronald Rousey's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Rousey counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Stevenson! Stevenson tries to buck Rousey off but Rousey is having none of it. Rousey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stevenson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Rousey working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Stevenson holding on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rousey wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stevenson, who protects the arm well. Rousey swings around for an armbar but Stevenson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rousey's guard. Rousey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rousey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevenson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stevenson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Rousey escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stevenson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stevenson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Stevenson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Rousey pushes a forearm under Stevenson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Stevenson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ronald Rousey! Ronald Rousey is the new welterweight champion! A relieved looking Ronald Rousey thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
