The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamba dives in and scores a takedown into Mihai's guard.
Mamba with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mamba drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mihai looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mihai looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mihai!
Mihai has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Mamba misses with a takedown attempt - Mihai sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mamba shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mihai defends it nicely.
Mamba avoids the head kick by Mihai.
Mamba fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Mamba closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mihai quickly recovers to half guard.
Mihai is trying to stand.
Mamba in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Mihai tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mamba!
