PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Mehoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filip Szczecinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szczecinski tries to clinch up but Mehoff circles away and keeps his distance.

Mehoff gets caught flat footed, as Szczecinski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Szczecinski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mehoff escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Szczecinski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mehoff is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mehoff throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Szczecinski escapes and throws Mehoff's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Mehoff is working for a kimura but Szczecinski is defending it quite comfortably.
Szczecinski is trying to stand up here but Mehoff is controlling him well.

Mehoff looking to hit a scissor sweep but Szczecinski is one step ahead there.
Szczecinski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mehoff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jack Mehoff overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Mehoff in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Szczecinski tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mehoff!
