PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kova Tangis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Kova Tangis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyson Axe!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Axe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Axe attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Tangis lands a left and a right that send Axe crashing to the mat, dazed. Tangis thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Axe is rocked!

It looks like Tyson Axe has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tangis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tangis looks for a takedown but Axe sprawls well.

Axe gets tackled into the cage by Tangis. Tangis maintains the clinch.
Axe is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tangis is defending well for now.

Tangis lands a takedown into guard.

Tangis stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Tangis moves into the clinch successfully.

Tangis is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Axe can't fight it off and eventually Tangis manages to take the fight to the floor. Axe looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tangis stands and throws Axe's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Axe manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tangis's best efforts.
Tangis is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Axe!
Axe is looking to get to half guard.
Tangis landing strikes from the mount.
Tangis looking to finish Axe with some ground and pound. This is bad for Axe!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Axe tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Axe wants to control but Tangis is having none of it.
Tangis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tangis scores with a couple of good head shots there.
A big strike lands for Tangis! That's really hurt Axe and he's turned his back - Tangis keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Tangis jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kova Tangis!
During a confident post fight interview, Kova Tangis thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
