Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dan Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Steve Califf!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Califf shoots and misses
and Quinn counters with a left to the body.
Califf takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Quinn misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Califf counters with a nice body kick.
Califf slips a jab from Quinn.
Califf moves in looking to clinch but Quinn pushes him off.
Quinn with a nice cross.
Quinn swings for the body but Califf moves out of range.
Califf misses with a takedown
and Quinn counters with a nice right hand that sends Califf toppling to the canvas! Califf scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Quinn finish him?!
Califf is rocked!
It looks like Steve Califf has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Quinn fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Califf looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Quinn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Califf moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Califf fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Califf uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Quinn.
Quinn tries to land a front kick but Califf steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Califf with a jab.
Califf backs away from a small jab... but Quinn lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Califf crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Quinn with a spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Dan Quinn!
After winning the bout, Dan Quinn thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
