Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Gaarlandt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and al Kaida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaida looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gaarlandt is fending him off so far but Kaida persists. Nope, Gaarlandt circles away and we're back to standing.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Kaida is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Gaarlandt has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
