Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 33 - 1, fighting out of London, Brij Khali! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Nanaki Yotomishi! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khali fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yotomishi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Khali paws at him with a jab and circles away. Khali scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Yotomishi looking for submissions off his back. Yotomishi slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Yotomishi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khali gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Khali wants to stand but Yotomishi is controlling his posture from full guard. Yotomishi working for a triangle but Khali defends it easily.
Yotomishi looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Khali has picked Yotomishi up and slammed him! Yotomishi can't keep hold of the triangle and Khali manages to pass to side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Yotomishi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Yotomishi is refusing to be controlled, as Khali sits in half guard. Khali decides to stand and escape the position. A telegraphed right hand from Yotomishi misses the target. Khali fails with a takedown attempt. Khali shoots in but Yotomishi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good exchange - Yotomishi coming out on top. Khali fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brij Khali. That's going to take a lot out of him. Khali dives in and scores a takedown into Yotomishi's guard. Yotomishi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khali gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yotomishi has his foot on Khali's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Khali works his way back into a safe position though. Khali tries to free his leg and advance position but Yotomishi is retaining full guard. Yotomishi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Khali passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yotomishi looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Yotomishi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Yotomishi tries to get to full guard but Khali has control of the leg. Yotomishi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Yotomishi actively working from the bottom here. Khali is trying to control. Yotomishi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khali lands strikes from half guard. Khali wants to control but Yotomishi is keeping him busy. Khali passes into side control, despite Yotomishi's attempt to control the position.
Yotomishi is looking for a sweep. Yotomishi is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Khali's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Yotomishi gets full guard. Khali wants to pass the guard but Yotomishi is keeping the position. Khali passes into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yotomishi trying to hold on to Khali's head to control him but Khali postures up.

A close round but Nanaki Yotomishi will probably get the nod. That's time! Khali's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Yotomishi shoots for a takedown but Khali saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Khali closes the distance and clinches. Khali wants to break free but Yotomishi has control.
Khali pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Yotomishi misses with a takedown attempt and Khali counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Khali. Khali decides to pull guard. Yotomishi throws an elbow that misses. Khali uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yotomishi's guard. Nice move by Khali! Khali postures up and lands a big shot to Yotomishi's brow. Yotomishi throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Khali passes Yotomishi's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khali sitting and controlling from the half guard. Khali's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Khali is working for a submission of some sort.
Yotomishi actively working from the bottom here. Khali tries to stand and escape but Yotomishi actually recovers to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yotomishi has his foot on Khali's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yotomishi keeping moving, preventing Khali from controlling successfully. Yotomishi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Khali defends well. Yotomishi is trying to hold Khali in close to prevent damage but Khali has managed to pass into half guard.
Khali wants to control but Yotomishi is keeping him busy. Khali is really struggling to control Yotomishi but he's trying to hold on to the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Khali has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yotomishi wants to control but Khali is having none of it. Yotomishi is squirming around, avoiding Khali's attempts to control the action. Yotomishi is looking to improve his position but Khali isn't that keen on the idea. Yotomishi tries to lock up and control but Khali gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khali sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Yotomishi tries to reverse the position but Khali maintains control. Khali working Yotomishi over with strikes here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Khali wants to control but instead Yotomishi manages to regain half guard. Khali looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Brij Khali dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Yotomishi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Khali's half guard. Yotomishi throwing shots but Khali is blocking nicely. Khali is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yotomishi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yotomishi's back! Khali has the hooks in. Yotomishi is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Yotomishi preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Khali. Yotomishi tries to break free.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khali is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Yotomishi is defending well though. Khali let's go of the attempt for now. Yotomishi trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Khali controlling the position well here. Yotomishi rolled but Khali kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Brij Khali overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Yotomishi trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Khali is trying to stick to Yotomishi's back but Yotomishi is turning into Khali. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Khali's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Yotomishi. This has been an exciting period of action! Yotomishi looking to sit in guard and control but Khali gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Yotomishi looking for subs off his back but Khali has passed one foot through into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yotomishi actively working from the bottom here. Yotomishi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Khali performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Yotomishi gets full guard. Khali postures up.
Khali trying to control the position from guard on top but Yotomishi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Khali has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khali stands up over Yotomishi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Khali tries to free his leg and advance position but Yotomishi is retaining full guard. Yotomishi wants to hit a switch here but Khali passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Yotomishi there! Khali controlling from mount. Khali wants to control the pace but Yotomishi is squirming around nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A nice elbow there by Khali.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brij Khali. I think Khali has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
