Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jahn Blom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Blom tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Davies is in Blom's guard.
Blom looking for a sweep. Not yet Blom, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blom has his hands on Davies's head, controlling the position.
Davies controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Davies is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Davies must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rob Davies was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Blom shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davies but Davies pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Davies lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Blom backs up against the cage.
Davies dives in and scores a takedown into Blom's guard.
Blom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davies doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davies manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Davies wanted to stand there but Blom had control of the position.

Davies has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Blom is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Davies closes the distance and pushes Blom back into the cage.

Blom jumps guard but Davies stands there with Blom around his waist. Blom gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Davies jumps into guard, dragging Blom to the mat.
Blom is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Blom is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Davies is just riding it out for now. Blom eventually gives up the hold.
Davies wants to get back to his feet.

Blom has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Davies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Blom moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Davies has worked his arm free - good work by Davies!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davies takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rob Davies will probably get the nod.

Blom is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Jahn Blom overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Blom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davies's guard.
Blom is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Davies utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Davies connects with a leg kick. Blom looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Davies wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blom keeps working.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blom gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Blom is pressing down on Davies's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Davies is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Blom is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Blom has escaped and now he's on top!
Davies is breathing heavily.
Blom's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blom's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Blom has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We're going to have a standup here because Jahn Blom wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Blom closes the distance and clinches.
Davies escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Davies clinches up against the cage.
Blom jumps guard but Davies stands there with Blom around his waist. Blom gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Davies feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Blom lands a decent shot there.
Blom doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Blom has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Blom is on top in guard.
Blom stands up and waves to Davies to follow him.
Blom fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Davies avoids it really well and circles away.

Davies wants to clinch.
Blom shoots in and drives through. Davies sprawls well.
Blom rushes Davies and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Davies has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Blom wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jahn Blom. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davies manages to break the clinch.
Blom is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Davies.

Davies shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Davies was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Blom is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Rob Davies is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Davies seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blom does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Blom is looking to improve his position.

Blom pushes a forearm under Davies's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Davies is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
